came across these beauties yesterday at the ol’ nordstrom rack. i cannot even explain to you my sheer unadulterated glee as i slipped them on my feet. not only do they include my “signature colors”, but they are comfy as all get out and make for some sweet biking shoes as well…very grippy on the bottoms. i heart vans. they totally remind me of my childhood as both of my brothers rocked the black and white checkerboard slip ons…and whaddya know, they had pink and black ones yesterday as well…i just might have to go back and get them. hope you’re all having a super great memorial day weekend. it’s raining in boulder - very odd since this feat of mother nature pretty much never happens. oh well, c’est la vie.

moab!
i celebrated a birthday last week and my honey and i packed up the kids/dogs and road tripped out to moab. it was absolutely spectacular and if you haven’t been to arches national park, i highly recommend doing so. i couldn’t believe what i was seeing, and like most tourists, took way too many pictures (but here are just a few). i kept commenting that the landscape reminded me of the irregular and organic shape of beads, and the red rock was such an incredible hue that i’ll just have to make and name a necklace mrs. moab! this might break from my tradition of naming necklaces after women in my life and family, but at some point, i think i’m going to run out of names and stories anyways! enjoy the pics! ~mLe

a little trunk show love…
a few weeks ago, four of us gals decided to get together and have a trunk show for our friends. the lovely kimberly of studio rossi was a most gracious hostess. she, teresa of catamount designs, rene of jewelbug, and myself, set up our wares throughout the house while people browsed, enjoyed wine and cheese and chatted it up. it was avocado jezebel’s “soft opening” as the retail big-whigs like to call it, and i hope that everyone who purchased a bauble is enjoying her to their heart’s content!
